The Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario today announced multiple additions to their basketball operations and coaching staff.
Dee Brown has been elevated to General Manager of the Agua Caliente Clippers/Director of Player Programs of the L.A. Clippers. Brown joined the Clippers prior to last season as the Director of Player Programs. He has worked for the Nuggets, Kings, Pistons, Magic, Orlando Miracle and the Springfield Armor in coaching and player development positions. The 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Champion, Brown played 12 years in the NBA, spending time with Boston, Toronto and Orlando.
Casey Hill has been named Head Coach of the Agua Caliente Clippers. Hill, 34, spent the past six seasons with the Golden State Warriors organization, the last four as the head coach of the Santa Cruz Warriors. Hill led Santa Cruz to the D-League Championship in 2015 and guided the Warriors’ D-League affiliate to a 114-86 overall record the last four seasons, including three playoff appearances. Prior to his tenure with the Warriors, Hill spent time coaching in Japan. He is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio.
Natalie Nakase and Travis Walton join Hill’s coaching staff as assistant coaches. Nakase has worked in the Clippers’ video department the past five seasons and has served as an assistant coach for the Clippers summer league team. Prior to the Clippers, Nakase coached overseas, including serving as head coach of the Saitama Broncos in Japan’s top professional men’s league. A UCLA graduate, Nakase played four years of basketball for the Bruins. Walton comes to the Clippers from the Utah Jazz, where he spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach for their D-League affiliate. Walton played for three NBA Development teams and played overseas for two seasons prior to beginning his coaching career. An alumnus of Michigan State University, Walton enjoyed a standout playing career under head coach Tom Izzo.
Scott Schroeder joins the AC Clippers as the Director of Basketball Operations. Schroeder is a G League veteran, having served in a variety of roles with the Reno Bighorns, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Dakota Wizards over the last 11 years. Most recently, he served as the Director of Player Personnel/Assistant Coach for the Bighorns. A graduate of Bemidji State University, Schroeder also served as the head coach of the ChinaHoops Tour and the Associate Head Coach of the Rayos de Hermosillo in Mexico.
