Grand Rapids, MI—The Agua Caliente Clippers fell to the Grand Rapids Drive on the road Thursday, 110-89, snapping a two-game winning streak. With the loss, the Clippers slip to 16-18 overall.
After swapping leads in the opening minutes, the Drive went on a 12-0 run with five minutes left in the first quarter to give them a 13-point advantage heading into the second frame and set the tempo. James Michael McAdoo scored seven points in just over a minute to bring the Clippers within four, but Grand Rapids responded with another run to stretch their lead to 15 before the halftime break. The final quarter began with a 5-0 Clippers run, thanks to a three-pointer from J.J. O’Brien and a dunk by McAdoo, but the Drive managed to regain control.
McAdoo led the Clippers with another double-double, his third in as many games. He poured in 24 points and grabbed 11 boards, six of which were on the offensive end. O’Brien added 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while LaDontae Henton scored 16 to go with seven boards of his own. Dakarai Allen led the reserves with 10 points.
