The #6 Capital City Go-Go began their fifth consecitive playoff appearance by outlasting their opponent the first game of their 2025-26 playoff run against the #3 Cleveland Charge.
The Go-Go battled through 21 lead changes and overcame a 12-point deficit to move on and face the #2 Greensboro Swarm on the road on Friday, April 3 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Alondes Williams led with a game-high 39 points on 12-of-21 shooting, including 4-of-9 from deep, nine rebounds, four assists, six steals and two blocks. Tonight’s 39 points and nine rebounds set new highs for Williams’ postseason records, marks he set with 24 points on April 5, 2024 vs. the Oklahoma City Blue and six boards on March 31, 2023 against Cleveland. Williams’ six steals tied his overall career-high, a mark he last achieved on Feb. 25, 2025 against the Texas Legends.
Julian Reese finished with 10 points, and a game-best 11 rebounds off the bench. Reese logged his fifth double-double of the season in his playoff debut. In 30:43 minutes off the bench, Kadary Richmond led all reserves with 21 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including three makes from beyond the arc, seven rebounds, six assists and one block Richmond is one of just two players to record a 20+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist/1+ block game in the G League postseason thus far, joining Rio Grande Valley’s Daishen Nix.
Chris Livingston closed with 27 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Livingston and Williams are the only pair of teammates to log 25+ points, 5+ rebounds and multiple steals in the first round of postseason action.
Skal Labissière recorded 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting, and eight rebounds.
