Clippers Fall to Bighorns at Home

Ontario, CA—The Agua Caliente Clippers fell to the Reno Bighorns 114-90 on Tuesday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena. With the loss, the Clippers slipped to 12-9 overall, with the Bighorns taking a 2-1 season series lead.

Despite the Clippers going up by five points in the opening three minutes of play, the Bighorns wasted no time fighting back, erasing the deficit and holding the home team to just 11 points in the first quarter.  Reno would stretch their lead to 23 points by the halftime break, thanks in part to 41-percent shooting from deep. The second half was no different, as the Clippers trailed by as many as 28 points in the third quarter. Agua Caliente threatened briefly in the fourth, trimming the Reno lead to 16, but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome. Turnovers caused problems for the Clippers early, as they committed 13 in the first half of play.

Ike Iroegbu lead the Clippers in scoring, as he provided a spark off the bench with 26 points, including a 2-for-4 effort from the three-point line. Tyrone Wallace added 19 points, while LaDontae Henton scored 12.

The Clippers take on the South Bay Lakers on Thursday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena in a 7 p.m. tip. The last time the two teams met up was on December 2, when the Clippers beat the Lakers 109-99.
