The NBA G League today announced that Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario forward Johnathan Motley has been named the G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, November 19 through Sunday, November 25.
Motley helped the Clippers to a 2-0 record while averaging 28.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in addition to shooting splits of 52.6% from the field and 87.5% from the free-throw line. He recorded a career-high and team season-high 35 points in Monday’s win against the South Bay Lakers.
In seven games this season (six starts), Motley is averaging 25.0 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting a team-best 56.7% from the field.
This is the first G League Player of the Week award for Motley, who is also the first Agua Caliente Clippers player to receive the honor. Motley was named G League Player of the Month in January 2018 as a member of the Texas Legends.
Now in his second pro season, Motley was acquired by the affiliate L.A. Clippers from the Dallas Mavericks via trade on July 23, 2018. He is currently playing on a two-way contract with L.A. and Agua Caliente.
